Hi Kitty lovers!

So tell me, since you brought this up... Why do you love cats, I mean more than other pets for example? Do you own one and if so, what's his/her name? Tell me about your kitties!

As most of you know, here is my boy Oliver!!!

He was born on the first of May 2007, and he became our family member on the 17 September 2007. He has grown up to be an 8kg+ of hunka hunk of purrring love, though he weighs slightly less after a session of diet.

While I am fond of all animals, I have always been much more of a cat person rather than a dog person. It's mainly because I identify with the nature of cats much more than that of dogs. Cats have such complex personality and individuality, every cat is to his/her own, they have their own personalities and whims and you can never stereotype them. And I adore their dignity and grace. Cats are their own masters and you can never make them "obey" like you do with dogs, and in a quiet, subtle way they teach us all sorts of wisdoms. And unlike dogs, who would drool and wag their tails to everyone they meet, you really have to WIN their affection. Thus it is very touching when a cat approaches to show his love and affection. I could go on and on, but this is just a few example of why cats attract me so much

Cats are something special to me,watching them I feel love and pain,my heart is melting with love and wrung with the pity and fear,people are sometimes so cruel,I want to protect them all,to put them in warm place....with milk and fish..but my heart is not made of stone,it cannot stand each time some bad things happen,it's a kind of dilemma,I want to protect cats but protect my heart really......
You know cats understand me and I understand them,one day I worked in some flat,the owners had a very independent,wilful she-cat,she didn't want to communicate,she didn't want anyone touched her,she didn't need a company at all,she had her own life,I accepted that.One day,I was working hard and felt worn out,I had a seat and the cat came into the room and jumped on the window-sill close to me,I didn't try to pet her I knew she didn't accept that but I needed help and started to tell her about my statement how I tired,how much work is left to do and so on she was listening.....I didn't account on something but suddenly she got closer and licked my nose,it was her contribution.....then she went,she passed away some years ago as I know but I remember her support,it's just the one story I told here,there are many more and about Oliver also.See you!

Why I love cats? I don't know, my love to cats begun when I was a very, very young, I guess I just fell in love in cats which I could see and pet near our farm house. When I was 2 years old I insisted to get a stray cat with me to my birthday picture... and when I was about 5 or 6 years old and learned to write, I immidiatelly begun to write little stories of Cats and draw pictures of them...

I guess that cats are simply so cute and beautiful that you cannot help loving them! I could watch cats and photos/videos of them all day!

Besides cats, I love dogs and horses.

A few trials and errors I see Milana... well actually I struggled a bit to find the correct way as well, it is not the most intuitive method... but we conquered in the end!!

And Kati, I, too can pass all day watching cat videos/photos!!! I never get tired of it they never cease to fascinate me and Oliver thanks u for the compliments and sends you purrrrrs

That's exactly what I was talking about Milanochka, when I said that with cats you must work on it, understand each other and WIN their affection, and when it does happen it is very touching... the story of you and your little friend is a fine example!!
And I feel the same way about all the less fortunate cats... some of the stories I encounter while I play Save a Cat break my heart. If a miracle happens and one day I win a lottery, I would love to build a lovely sanctuary for cats like Caboodle Ranch!!

Aw, I love you gurls and your stories, you know that right? * * Thank you for sharing your stories! I loved them all, but Milana's especially. I know the feeling, I always want to protect every cat! I would adopt them all if I could. They are so beautiful, so sensual and independant creatures.

It's okay to edit, I understand some people never used a forum before and that's the point of us meeting here. I think we don't need to be "serious" or "professionnal" about it. We share things, our feelings about some things. I said the forum would be more or less "closed", just to be between "us". It is somehow more practical than FB because here we can write longer texts and share pictures and so on... We don't need this forum to have 2.000 members to feel at ease

About CATS now!

I've always wanted a cat when I was a kid but my Dad was allergic to them (though he had many when he was a kid too) so the answer was always "No" until I stopped asking about one. I grew up and forgot about cats. In 2007, by the middle of May, I went to London with my classmates for two days. It was my first time in England and in London and to be honest, I really hated it. It wasn't well prepared and we had to walk long distances, which I couldn't at the time. We were in a hurry all the time, we couldn't just sit for one second and appreciate the atmosphere of London. It was a big dissapointment. When I came back home, I was tired and had a migraine, I was on the edge of going completely mad. I went upstairs to greet my Mom and on her knees was this little fur ball:


At the time, we didn't know that Saphir was a she-cat, she was so little! I dropped my bag and started to cry, because I was thinking we were just going to look after the cat for some days, I didn't know it was mine. But my Mom said she found it at her work and that we were going to keep it, that it was ours. Then she asked me how I wanted to name her. We have a parrot called Ruby so I thought that, to continue in gems theme, we should call our cat Saphir

Yes! We weren't sure about the breed of Saphir because the veto said "As you found her, I can't be sure what breed her parents were". So when I saw Torsti, I gasped and told my Mom "Moooom, it's Saphir in he-cat!"
