Ok, we are all familiar with music from English speaking world, but who are your favourites from your countries? Probably they have little chance to be exposed abroad, so let's share some of our national treasures... I like several Italian artists, let me introduce two of them, Negramaro and Zero Assoluto :-) Hope you will enjoy!!

I didn't know those! Thank you for the discover! When I think about Italy, I think about Umberto Tozzi, Laura Pausini, Zucchero,...
Okay, here in Belgium, we had Jacques Brel Though it's a singer that lived before I was born, I love him. Thanks to "Ne me quittes pas" (I knew this song before Stéphane used it for his program). We also have Tom Dice, who did the Eurovision Contest in 2010, Helmut Lotti. Maybe a few of you know Stromae. He was a classmate of mine! Here's his song:
Here are two belgian singer I love, called Lara Fabian & Maurane. This song is beautiful:
And I couldn't leave you without a song in Dutch (the second language here in Belgium) from K3:

I liked Negramaro more,it rouses my imagination:),the second boy....it's a light music, just for a good morning mood! Generally I don't like pop-music,I prefer rock,trash,progressive-rosk,like "Dream Theater" and "Pain" or "Tiamat",among Russian musicians I can mark this band БИ 2there was a Russian reality-TV-show "Last hero.To stay alive" based on Lost series,БИ 2 composed this sing "To stay alive" as a sound track for the show.
And another soundtrack for movie
БИ 2 and Diana Urbenina

Hey thanks for these videos Julie!! I remembered you said "Nes Quitte Pas" was done by a Belgian singer, and that is about as far as I go about Belgian Music. (the name Lara Fabian sounds vaguely familiar too, though). I quite liked the first 2 songs, as for K3 I had enough after 3 seconds (as for Dutch music I remember Marco Borsato whom I thought pretty nice, the name sounds very suspiciously italian however!)

Spasiibo Milana!!! I have heard a few Russian songs before, and always felt curious that, when it is spoken it doesn't sound like a very musical language, but when it is actually put into song, it does sound pretty nice! I liked the second song posted, it reminded me a bit of Mansun (a band from the 90's at the height of britpop era...), good guitarist too. Is the same guy singing on the second one and the third one??? Or there are lots of years apart between these two songs? The singer looked quite yummy on the second video, but on the third video, ummmm...

Well Lara has italian origins but she's born in Brussels. Marco Borsato, I forgot about him! Yeah, K3 is quite special and Dutch language especially
I've done some researches and I found out a belgian singer I'd forgot about:
And believe it or not but Milow is belgian as well!
Here's another belgian singer, Katerine Avgoustakis (from Greek origins) but it's a bit sad that she sings in English:

Pretty interesting that you described Zero Assolute as "nice morning music" Milana... one of their biggest hits is called "Svegliarsi a Mattina", waking up in the morning
Here is another Negramaro tune, different mood but very beautiful song all the same
This is the first song I ever learned fully shortly after I came to Italy, incredibly, irresistably catchy song!!
Prima di Andare Via, Neffa
BTW, TATU is quite well known also in Italy, but they are not of my taste...

I couldn't see the first video Julie, it says it is not available in my country... I really liked the song by Milow! (not so much the girl in the middle ) You said "believe it or not", is he famous internationally? BTW, seeing these videos got me to think, does majority of the belgian singers sing in French?

It depends! We have "old" singers, they sing in French (like Jacques Brel, Pierre Rapsat, Salvatore Adamo,...) but "young" singers mostly sing in Dutch because well, they come from a Dutch part of Belgium.

thank you from another nice clip Milana I wonder where this was filmed... I imagine you could easily find a place like this if you travel towards the central part of the country. One of the things that intrigues me about your country is, the vast and mysterious atmosphere of the almost unknown territory of the Central-Eastern Russia. Ural mountain range, Siberia, Lake Baikal, and all the way to the pacific coast. I dream of travelling all the way across the Trans Siberian Railroad one day, though I think that will be very difficult to realize!
Here are couple more of the clips from 2 of the most internationally known artists from Italy, whom you might recognize.
"Fuoco nel Fuoco" by Eros Ramazzotti... I can so picture Stephane skating to this song He made many of his albums in Spanish version as well, and largely popular in Spain and Latin America.
Elisa sang at the closing ceremony of the Torino Games in 2006, so you may remember her. This is one of the most beautiful songs done by her. "Una Poesia Anche Per Te" She also likes to sing in English, though I think she is much better singing in her own Italian...
