Here my first recipe, really appreciated in Belgium called "Carbonnade Flamande". It's a traditional meat dish, very tasteful.

Carbonnade Flamande.

Ingredients:

* 2 Cups Beef Stock
* 2 Pounds Beef Round -- cubed
* 3 Medium Yellow Onion -- chopped
* 1 Teaspoon Garlic
* 1 1/2 Tablespoons Vinegar
* 1 Tablespoon Parsley -- chopped
* 1 Teaspoon Savory
* 1/4 Teaspoon Cinnamon
* Pepper -- to taste
* 6 Slices Whole Wheat Bread Crumbs
* 2 Tablespoons Prepared Mustard

How to cook them?

Saute onions & garlic until they are really brown, almost caramelized. The more brown they are, the more the sauce is going to be good. Then put the beef and let it cook until he is brown on all sides.
Add the stock and the vinegar. Let bake for 1 hour and half on high fire (300 degrees) then add the remaining ingredients and bake for another 30 minutes.

You may serve with french fries & salad, or only fries if you want and drink with blonde beer.

Merci Julie!!! This sounds a bit like Boeuf Bourguignon without red wine, and could be one of the few meat based dishes I could actually like! Cool
I would accompany a nice freshly baked baguette to scoop up the extra sauce!! Wink
